The manufacturer adopted Deloitte’s framework and approach towards innovation intervening in both physical and human capital activities as facilitating innovation through an online, social platform for idea generation.
In a heavily competing market the client was faced with a reduction of market share. This resulted in a strategic goal of the client to generate revenue through innovation. The challenge lies within mobilizing the employees to start embracing innovation and start connecting with their colleagues to come up with ideas with potential. Also because of the scale of the organization and fragmentation of the knowledge it’s hard to organize structural innovation
Deloitte helped to setup an integral corporate-wide innovation programme with the client, addressing both physical, human capital, process and technology implementation for managed innovation.
Deloitte executed the programme together with the manufacturer and developed the innovation web portal that was used to capture the ideas, prioritize the ideas and make the innovation process transparent towards the employees.
